The Pirates of Penzance

Cancelled The Pirates of Penzance

Heritage Opera present
Saturday 11th May at 7.30pm

Tickets £23.50**

On 5th January 2019, Heritage Opera's Company Manager and lead tenor, Nicholas Sales, suffered a brain aneurysm from which he is still recovering. At present, we are unable to predict how long Nick will take to convalesce, so we have decided to postpone all the events we had planned for 2019. This decision has been made jointly by Sarah Helsby Hughes (Artistic Director) and Chris Gill (Chairman) with the agreement of the Trustees of Heritage Opera.

If you would like to contribute to the fund to support Sarah and Nick, please visit this crowdfunding page:

Gilbert and Sullivan’s evergreen favourite is brought to life by Heritage Opera,

Northwest England’s professional touring opera company. The famous story is told as seen through the eyes of a small boy and his friends, who loves playing at pirates.

Performed by a cast of 11 professional singers, accompanied by a 5 piece orchestral ensemble.

A fabulous show suitable for all the family.

**Prices include a 50p per seat 'refurbishment' levy.

Blackfriars Theatre is run predominately by volunteers, we don't charge an admin fee and don't intend to. The full levy plus gift aid, if applicable, will create a special fund to help maintain and refurbish the towns precious traditional little Theatre. This fund will also allow us to seek 'match funding' opportunities to enhance your theatre experience.

Thank you for your support and understanding. We hope you Enjoy the Show and encourage others to Keep Theatre Live in Boston.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
