In Memoriam - Pete Read

Sunday 1st November

Our volunteers are often referred to as being part of the Blackfriars Family, so it is with great sadness that we report the passing our friend Pete Read.

Pete has been involved and influential in Blackfriars for many years. His forthright contribution to debates about the direction of Blackfriars should be acknowledged as invaluable.

Volunteering has been one of his passions, his encouragement and leadership of getting involved has proved to be a massive incentive to us all, be it leading Front of House for years or smiling as he pulled a pint in the bar.

With Cutwater Productions he demonstrated his knowledge of the theatrical industry and his talents as a performer, writer and director all of which are going to be greatly missed by us all.

Our love and thoughts go out to his family.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
