Support from the Theatres Trust received by Blackfriars

Thursday 10th December

Blackfriars Theatre in Boston is very grateful to have received a grant of £5000 from the Theatres Reopening Fund, administered by the Theatres Trust.  This will be put towards improving the ventilation of the theatre, to help make it a more Covid-safe environment following government guidance.

Blackfriars Theatre was designed in the 1960s, and the heating and ventilation system needs to be brought up to modern standards. This is our current major project, and we are still looking for partners and sponsors to help with this. The Theatre Trust grant is the first step in raising the £80,000 needed for this project.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
