As part of the Heritage Open Days we are offering 2 tours over all 4 of the Cultural Quarter sites here in Boston. You have the choice to go on 4 of the tours as they will run back to back with a 15 min break at Blackfriars Theatre in the middle or you can book yourself onto individual tours as you wish. When booking you must select each of the tours you want to be included in, selecting the first tour does not automatically give you a place on all 4 tours.  

Part 1 - Fydell House - 10am or 1pm

Join us for an introductory tour and discover the fascinating history of Fydell House. Discover its ups and downs from merchant wealth to a bomb disaster.

Part 2 - Boston Guildhall - 10.30am or 1.30pm

Join us for an introductory tour and discover the fascinating history of Boston Guildhall. Explore centuries worth of stories, secrets and experiences of Boston’s rich trade since its founding in 1390.

Part 3 - Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre - 11.15am or 2.15pm

Join us for an introductory tour and discover the fascinating history of the Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre. Explore how the building evolved from Dominican Friary to beloved theatre for Boston.

Part 4 - Shodfriars Hall - 11.45am or 2.45pm

Join us for an introductory tour and discover the fascinating history of Shodfriars Hall. Explore its history and our exciting plans for a project to restore it for the future.



Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
