Box Clever is proud to be bringing its touring production of JEKYLL & HYDE to Blackfriars.

The company’s adaptation of Stevenson’s gripping Gothic horror fantasy places it firmly within the confines of its Victorian world while at the same time exploring, through startling and dynamic theatre, the eternal questions that it poses about the balance between good and evil in a person.

Box Clever is a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England based at The Blackfriars Theatre in Boston, Lincolnshire. At its core, the company is committed to making and touring original theatre to young people in schools nationally. Intrinsic to this commitment is the involvement of young people in the creative process for the benefit of both the young people and the artists. To this end, Company policy is to rehearse plays in residence in Lincolnshire schools and to launch the plays from theatre venues in the county.

Of Jekyll and Hyde: Fantastic. The students loved it and got so much from the performance. It brought the characters and Victorian London to life. English Key Stage 3 Leader.

I loved how each character was presented by each actor and how interactive they were with all of us during their performance. This was very helpful and insightful into all the themes, characters and behaviours. I loved it! Year 11 student.
