50th Anniversary Grand Reunion and Exhibition Launch

Friday 16th September

Last Friday Blackfriars launched its season of celebrations to mark its 50th Anniversary with a Grand Reunion event.

It was a great night of memories with volunteers, members and faces from the past discussing old times and the future.

The Worshipful the Mayor of Boston, his wife and our local MP Matt Warman were there to say a few words and cut the cake with our Chairman Stuart Bull.

Local societies and groups that have been a part of Blackfriars for the last 50 years were also on hand with stalls of memorabilia, showing their past productions at our Little Theatre.

The night was a great success and was a fitting tribute to all those that have given time and money to this special project over the years.

As well as the exhibition in the Foyer which will run until the end of October we have coming up a Local Societies Gala this weekend on the Friday 16th and Saturday 17th September at 7.30pm and a Professional Gala performance on the 15th October at 7.30pm. Tickets for both are on sale via the Blackfriars website or Box office on 01205 363108.

All of this is to mark the 50th Anniversary of our 'Little Theatre'. Please come along and get involved to Keep Theatre Live in Boston.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
