Blackfriars Outreach Programme Freelance Project Opportunity!

Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre are looking for a Freelance individual to come in and assist with the set up of our new Costume Store out at Amber Hill.  This project is part of the new Blackfriars Outreach Programme which we have launched as part of our Arts Countil England NPO funding.

Costume Store Set up Project 
Location: Amber Hill, PE20 3RR 
Time Line: We would like this project complete and the hire store up and running by the end of August 2024. 

About us:-  
Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre run a successful Theatre Academy and over the past years they have been collecting costumes, props and set from numerous production they have done.  Since becoming an Arts Council England NPO in April 2023 we have launched our Blackfriars Outreach Programme and as part of this we want to convert our costume store into a usable facility with a full stock list, organisation system and photo database so that we can look to hire items out to other amateur school productions.  

The Project:-  
To create a functioning costume/ prop and set storage and hire facility to support the running of our own productions as well as those in the local area.  

The contract will involve: 

The sorting and organising of our store at Amber hill, including all props, costume and set pieces. 

Photographing and cataloguing pieces to advertise the costumes for hire. 

Working with our Blackfriars Outreach lead to complete the project 

What we are looking for: 

A self-employed person who is self-motivated and highly organised. 
A passion for musical productions, organising and costumes would be beneficial? 
Previous experience in personally managing projects  
Photography skills; to photograph collections in order to create hire packs for customers 

Additional information:  

The store has one flight of stairs to reach the upper mezzanine level, which will need to be accessed.  

Parking is available at the location  

Travel costs will not be included

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
