Boston's 6th Annual Creative Writing Competition launched

Thursday 23rd July

Young Lincolnshire and Discover Volunteering CIC have launched Boston's 6th Annual Creative Writing Competition for young people this week.

Open to both Primary and Secondary Age children (up to 18 years) this years competition doesn't have a theme so youngsters are being encouraged to let their imagination RUN RIOT in the PAST, PRESENT or FUTURE!  The piece can be set at an historical event but must be an original piece of creative writing.

To enter your piece you can drop it off at Waterstones Boston or Blackfriars Arts Centre or post it to Pete Read, 24 Blackthorn Lane, Boston, PE21 9BG. Alternatively email it to peteread24@hotmail.com.

Clearly mark you work with your name, age and contact details. (If under 16 include your parent/guardians contact details)

Deadline for entries is noon on 19th December 2020.

A winners Celebration event is usually held at Blackfriars Arts Centre and the intention is that winners and best runners up will receive their prizes and hear their stories read by local actors at the event in January 2021.

For more information (and competition rules) email peteread24@hotmail.com.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
