Family favourite Sooty will be leading Boston’s live entertainment programme during February. Sooty, Sweep and Sue are out on a national tour and Boston is one of only 5 dates chosen for the popular show to appear at. Entertaining families for over 70 years, the Sooty show always sells out at every theatre it visits, and Lincolnshire audiences have two chances to see him live. Appearing on 18th February at 11.30am and 2.30pm, audiences are encouraged to book early. Tickets are already selling fast.

Boston’s only professional theatre, Blackfriars has a varied February programme. Back by popular demand TV’s favourite psychic Tony Stockwell is in Boston on the 5th February, closely followed by a fast moving ride through the 60’s – Bringing on Back the 60’s. Live at Blackfriars on the 7th February, this show pays homage to the decade which bought us the mini car, the mini skirt & exceptional music! A feel-good live show jam packed with all the songs you love!

HarrietThe live music continues with Harriet, 14th February. Due to incredible demand, Harriet has announced more shows on her Trying To Get The Feeling Again Tour, which sees her perform intimate interpretations of her favourite sounds of the 70s, including hits by The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Carole King and The Carpenters, interlaced with her nostalgic original material.

On the 21st February Boston welcomes a high energy tribute to Steps faithfully recreating the flawless vocals and slick choreography of the 90's & 00's party favourites in a fast paced, spectacular concert. With iconic costumes and incredible visuals, get ready for a trip down memory lane.

Executive Director, Adey Ramsel, said ‘After our record-breaking pantomime season of Beauty & the Beast we are hitting the ground running in February. To have the Sooty Show choose us as one of only a few theatres to visit on this tour is a great honour. We have some awesome live music and of course to round the month off, we have our monthly Blackfriars Comedy Night, on 28th February, always a sell out and always a great night of laughter.’

Looking into March the venue has the award-winning comedy tribute to Victoria Wood – Looking For Me Friend. ‘The most feel-good show in town’ is playing in Boston 20th March.  Following successful UK tours and a critically acclaimed run in New York, Michael Morpurgo's compelling sequel to 'War Horse' returns to the stage in the delightful, family-friendly show Farm Boy in April.

In May as part of the 80th VE Day commemorations, the variety show Spirit of the Blitz stops off in Boston as part of its tour. Playing 7th May at 2pm, this is a trip down memory lane and a sentimental journey back through time to the glorious melodies and good clean comedy that accompanied a dogged nation’s battle for survival.

All shows are on sale at www.blackfriarsartscentre.co.uk, or you can pop into the theatre Monday to Saturday between 10am and 1pm to book in person and choose the best seats.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
